New to Dan River Middle?
In order to register a student in a Pittsylvania County school the parent(s) or guardian(s) must fill out the registration packet and bring the following items along with the packet to the school: (Registration packet)
- Picture ID
- Three proofs of residency
- Proof of TDap shot and full immunization record
- Original copy of the child's birth certificate if this is the first time being enrolled in a VA school. If it is not the first time in a VA school, then a copy of the child's birth certificate.
- If applicable, custody orders with a court seal.
- If applicable, child's current Inpidual Education Plan or 504 from previous school.

When are counselors available to see students?
We have an open door policy to see students.
If the assigned counselor is busy,
the student will be seen as soon as possible. Emergencies will be seen right away.
Where are the counselors located?
Our offices are in the main office across from the principal.
How do we arrange to see a counselor?
A student may ask his/her teacher for a pass to come to the
office to see their designated counselor. The student will then
fill out a form and the designated counselor for that student
will see him/her at that time if available.
If the counselor is not available, they will see that student as soon as possible.
If an emergency, that student will be worked in right away.
